We are headed to Jackson Hole on Wednesday. Wanted to stop in Colorado and get a small pack of gummies as we will be camping.

I’ve never traveled with any kind of drug. Will a small amount be any problem if pulled over in Wyoming? Might be a stupid question but if anyone has any experience let’s here it! Ha

You can travel with it... but it has to stay in the package with the receipt attached to it proving where you bought it legally. Wyoming should not give you a problem as long as you have the receipt stapled to shopping bag.

Why’s it matter if the receipt is staples to the bag? I always wondered if it would be a big deal bringing some back to Cincinnati.

I checked my edibles in on the plane from Vegas and nothing was said.

I’m not being back pounds, but would like to bring some back

Ask the cashier when your there. The law isnt broken if you have a stapled receipt with an unopened shopping bag. You can go anywhere with it at that point because it was legally purchased from that point. That's what they told me, of course i stayed in Colorado and it dosent matter there, i opened the bag and used it and threw the bag away, but if you travel to an state that dosent approve the receipt and staples count for something. Of course your going to open the bag but if your pulled over and searched without the receipt and original shopping bag they might bust you. Gummies i think are different but if you have flowers it's different to the authorities. Bunch of BS IMO but just ask when you get there and they will explain it to you.

Did a little research of my own. Think I’ll hold off and just get it while we are in Boulder for 4 days. Find a cop wanting to make a point they can get you with trafficking it says. It’s illegal to take it across state lines.

People do it all the time, not sure if you would have trouble in Wyoming. You should be fine while your out west but coming home is a bunch of BS, if it's unopened and the receipt is on the shopping bag you can go where you want I'm pretty sure about that but we still have cops who have to push the limits of it and try to give people a hard time. I think it's stupid but that's just me, it's a free country and a legal purchase so where is the crime ?

This is unfortunately very innaccurate

Illegal possession of cannabis in any form is not mitigated by having been purchased in a jurisdiction without such prohibitions

That noted, if you are in possession of small (or frankly any size) quantities of cannabis products in a jurisdiction that is not legal, you cannot be convicted of a crime unless the contraband is detected via a legal search of your vehicle or person.

Therefore if you are driving w legal license and vehicle, simply refuse any requests for search.

If for some reason the officer(s) elected to ignore your lack of consent, do not resist or impede them. But remain confident that anything found will be inadmissable and you are therefore in the clear

All of the above noted, odds of such a sequence of events are incredibly long, so snag what you want in CO, pack it away discreetly from plain sight and enjoy your time in WY

Carrying contraband on a commercial air flight is more risky due to you and your possessions being legally subject to search at any time without either reasonable or probable cause to suspect illegal activity

Best way to transport small quantities of product is quite simply to pack it securely in a 1 pound or less Priority Mail envelope and mail it to yourself. If raw flower, a double vacuum seal will eliminate incriminating odors and you are good to go

The USPS has no practical mechanism to inspect any of the millions of small weight packages that go through their system every few days

I stand corrected. Thanks Sgt. The cashier told me it was acceptable to keep it in the original shopping bag with a receipt attached to the bag and i would have no issues.

Thanks guys. I’ll have such a small amount i really don’t think it matter. But don’t think they would hassle us if we got pulled over. We are just out for a family vacation.

Might or might not get some for camping in Wyoming. But definitely on our 4-5 night stay in Colorado.

Even if purchased legally, technically it is still against federal law and the feds can harass you. Sgt. gave you reasonable advice although I wouldn't recommend mailing it.
